Insurance loaded with specialist features

Guncover offers specialist business insurance for all aspects of the gun trade, including RFDs, gunsmiths, manufacturers, wholesalers, shooting schools, ranges and more. We’re the only broker in the country that focuses purely on this type of cover.

Our aim is to simplify protection by providing insurance that includes both a comprehensive range of standard cover essential to anyone running a business and special covers which are specific to the gun trade – because we understand yours is no standard business.

Special additional features for the Gun Trade

Covers vary between insurers but typically include:

Stock Cover – includes (in all cases) goods in trust/held for repair/items to be sold on commission, second Hand / Vintage Goods – covered within stock sum insured.

Proof House Cover – £50,000 whilst guns are at any UK Proof House facility, with higher limits also available if needed.

Exhibition/Game Fair Cover – stock and stands in UK up to £50,000, with higher limits also available if needed. Transit included. Liabilities extended (see below).

Goods In Transit – £50,000 for UK transit (automatic with Hiscox only), with higher limits available for ad-hoc needs subject to discussion. Includes cover for your own vehicles and transit by hauliers. Separate Marine Transit cover can be arranged for import and export.

Traps – cover for traps in the UK is included through a case-by-case approach. Talk to us about your requirements

Seasonal Increase – automatic 30% increase in respect of stock for the months of November, December, 30 days prior to Easter, or any other agreed 3-month period. Talk to us about when your business has increases in stock.

Goods on Approval / Hire – covered as standard for a £3,000 limit.

We can also quote for your off-site activities such as shooting clubs, and ranges. Special rates apply to these activities.
